CONVOCATORIA
Segundas Jornadas Internacionales de Arte de Acción del Pumarejo (JIAAP II).
27, 28, 29 de enero de 2012.
Sevilla.

The International meeting of Action Art of the Pumarejo is an initiative from the Gallery Weber-Lutgen (Seville, Spain). with which it wants to acclimate an artistic activity that, although being connatural to the Andalusian soul, does not enjoy the knowledge and diffusion as to allow it to integrate the existing cultural panorama.
We try to create a space for reflection, exchange and investigation that allows to develop and to project new kinds of thinking in contemporary art and that this takes place in the township of the Pumarejo. This district has been an alternative core of cultural resistance to the official culture from the eighties, and it it continues to be in the Panorama of the current economic crisis.

APPEL À projet / call to project / APPELLO A PROGETTO VIDEO ART FESTIVAL 6 décembre

THE TGV IN 50 SECONDS
The project of this video demonstration is a homage to the Lumière brothers and the recognition of the fundamental role that the train had and has in the development of the voyage.
We are sure that “L’arrivée d’un train en gare de La Ciotat”, a short of 50 seconds, was the first art film in the history. In its brevity, it takes on the cinematographic language and attests the social development in the sense of modernity, interpreted as freedom of collective and fast voyage.
And now? Finished all the illusions of the modernism and postmodern, people opens everywhere reflections on the sustainability of the train in his high-speed version, the TGV in France. Progress or portent of new disasters in environment? Other? Answers are awaited: yours.
CO.AR.CO. will dedicate its activity of the cultural season 2012 at the realization of an artists’ video collection on the topic of the TGV. The videos, just like the original film of the Lumière brothers “L’Arrivée d’un train en gare de La Ciotat”, have a length of 50 seconds (+ generic titles) developing the subject of a travel by train.
Participation is free. All the videos will be presented on the site of CO.AR.CO. > MORE >
